My journey to becoming an Alternative Break Coordinator was a complicated one, because at first, this is not what I wanted to be apart of. I had a whole plan thought out on what I was going to do and exactly how I was going to do it. Things changed, I changed, and I no longer fit the description of what I wanted to be part of. My mindset expanded and the Alternative Break Program played a very vital role in my change of perception.
The biggest critic I had to face was myself. I thought I was not good enough. I thought that my place was only as a participant, never as a coordinator.
That was the mindset that I once had. Never again will I doubt myself before even trying because it gets to a point where you either jump or you remain stagnant. When you remain complacent in your environment that could be the scariest place ever.
I had to take baby steps, place myself in situations where I was pushed to strengthen my innate leadership abilities. Step by Step I became stronger, more resilient, less fearful, and more prepared.
