The Quiet and Learning
This trip was amazing! I appreciated the
opportunity to connect with the environment and meet the Long Branch Environmental
Education Center Staff. It was peaceful, quiet, and for the most part cell-phone
service free. We stayed on a mountain and helped with blueberry transplanting
and organic farming. The conversation amongst our group was different, insightful,
and encouraged thinking. There was intellect and positivity. The personalities
of our group members meshed well and allowed us to grow from the experience. I
felt like I reconnected with the environment and learned a lot. The most
impactful part of my trip was just being in nature and involved in
conversations that were unique and allowed for me to learn more.

Impact Story - MLK
I never realized that there was so much need for environmental work throughout Florida. We hiked into the mangroves and were overwhelmed by the amount of trash that was there. It was the most difficult work that we did on the trip because it not only required physical strength but also mental strength as many of us overcame several fears in an unknown environment. It was an unforgettable experience that I would definitely do again!

My best memory was picking the cumquat tree outside our housing :)
